The Passion of Christ Update

Tonight 70 adults and countless children watched the Passion of Christ in The Hole.  I was especially pleased to see a larger number of men watching- we have had reached very few men in that barrio.

I must say it was a strange experience- the river smelled horrible, 6 kids were trying to all sit on the same stool, the children in front were restless and talkative, scooters were coming and going right in front of the movie screen, and yet amidst all the chaos, the people were vividly reminded of Christ’s suffering love for them.

Please continue to keep this community in your prayers, and especially Victor as he leads the church to be the light of Christ.  This week of Holy Week is associated with partying, going the beach or back to the campos where they were born, and sweet beans (habichuelas dulces). Pray that as a result of seeing this film, they will also remember the God who loves them and the Christ who died for them, and turn with repentent hearts toward Him.
